What's new

FormatWala went live on 18 September 2026 with four business documents. This page lists what has been added or changed since then, newest first. Every tool works in English and Hindi, and a page that states a tax or legal fact shows, under its title, the date we last checked it.

October 2026

26 October

• Increment Letter: a salary revision from a date, with the increase in rupees and per cent, an optional promotion and the revised monthly structure.
• No Dues Certificate: from an employer, a lender, a landlord, a housing society or a college, with an optional table for each department to sign.
• Simple Bill: a plain bill or cash memo for a business not registered under GST, in PDF, Word, or Excel with working formulas. Its blank has no GST lines.
• Joining Letter: the employee’s joining report, on a new job, on transfer or back from leave, with the forenoon or afternoon if your office records it.

23 October

• Show Cause Notice: asks an employee to explain, in writing and by a date, before any disciplinary action. Worded in line with the Model Standing Orders, 2026.
• Warning Letter: the usual next step when the explanation to a show cause notice is not accepted, or no reply comes.

21 October

• Resignation Letter: the notice period, the last working day, an optional request for early release, and the handover.
• Resignation Acceptance Letter: the employer’s reply, with the relieving date, the handover and when the documents will be given.
• The relieving letter page has a Hindi section, with a Hindi sample and blank Hindi files.
• The guide to what to collect before your last working day links each letter you may need on the way out.
• The Hindi experience letter guide now opens by saying what an experience letter is.

20 October

• Application for NOC: the letter an employee, a student or a tenant writes to ask for an NOC, for a passport, a visa, studies, a new job and more.
• Application for Experience Certificate: for someone who has left, is leaving or is still working.
• The NOC and offer letter pages have Hindi sections, with a Hindi sample and blank Hindi files.
• The Hindi sample images show the details typed in Hindi too, not only the printed headings.

18 October

• Export Invoice: under LUT or with IGST, in the client’s currency.

16 October

• NOC for GST Registration: the property owner’s consent letter for a GST registration at their premises.
• Probation Appointment Letter, and the Probation Confirmation Letter that confirms the employee or extends the probation.
• The privacy policy now says that we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits.

14 October

• Fixed Term Appointment Letter. The appointment letter prints the same fixed-term paragraph when fixed-term employment is chosen.
• Marriage biodata in four designs: classic, traditional, modern and simple.
• Every tool page shows, under its title, when its facts were last checked, and below the tool, the formats you are likely to need next.
• The questions on our most-visited pages were rewritten to answer what people actually ask.
• The salary slip page gives the EPF wage ceiling of ₹25,000 a month, in force from 17 September 2026.

8 October

• EDF Form for Export of Services: the form RBI asks service exporters for from 1 October 2026, with a guide and a news post. The same day, every EDF page was updated with what RBI’s Governor said on 7 October about individuals.
• Internship Offer Letter, on a page of its own.
• Every document tool has “See a filled-in example”, and its page shows a sample image.
• Every blank format can be downloaded from its page as a PDF and as a Word file.

7 October

• On phones, the header opens a menu. Before this, its links were hidden on small screens.

1 October

• Letterhead maker. Its Word file puts the letterhead in the real page header, so Word repeats it on every page.
• Photo & Signature Resizer for the sizes exam forms ask for.
• Form 16 is Form 130 for salary paid from 1 April 2026: corrected in the ten places that still said Form 16.
• The offer letter can put the salary break-up in an annexure on a page of its own.
• New guides: how to write an experience letter, how to write an offer letter and salary certificate, salary slip or Form 130?

• Excel downloads for the full and final settlement, the payment receipt and the rent receipt.

26 September

• The salary slip and salary certificate print their labels in Hindi when the document is in Hindi.

22 September

• Full and Final Settlement statement.
• The about, privacy and terms pages name Web Seasoning, the business that runs FormatWala.

20 September

• The guides, starting with six: a handwritten GST invoice, reading your salary slip, rent receipts for HRA, when you need an NOC, which document you need and Word and Excel downloads.
• Two blog posts: your appointment letter template is probably out of date and what changed for employers on 1 April 2026.

19 September

• Excel and Word downloads for 12 tools, made in your browser.
• Appointment Letter, Relieving Letter, Salary Certificate and NOC.
• GST Calculator, HRA Calculator and the old vs new tax regime calculator for tax year 2026-27.
• The first blog post, Form 12BB is gone, and the guide to what to collect before your last working day.

18 September

• FormatWala went live with the GST invoice, quotation, proforma invoice and purchase order.
• The same day: the payment receipt, salary slip, rent receipt, delivery challan, UPI QR code, offer letter, experience letter, marriage biodata and resume.
