How to use it
- 1Pick what you are uploading: an IBPS photo, signature, thumb impression or declaration, an SSC signature, or choose 'My notification' and type the width, height and KB range your notification gives.
- 2Choose the picture. On a phone you can pick it from your gallery or take it there and then.
- 3Drag the picture inside the frame and use the slider to zoom until it sits right. For a signature, leave 'Clean up' on to make the paper white and the ink dark.
- 4Check the result: the pixels, the file size and the format are listed with a tick each. Press Download JPG and upload that file.
Take the right picture first
No resizer can rescue a bad photo. What IBPS’s instructions ask for is a fair guide for any form: a recent colour photo against a light, preferably white, background; looking straight at the camera with a relaxed face; no harsh shadows or squinting; no reflections on glasses; no cap, hat or dark glasses. Religious headwear is allowed as long as it does not cover the face.
For a signature, sign on plain white paper with a black pen, photograph it in daylight from directly above, and let the tool clean it up.
The numbers belong to your notification
Every recruitment publishes its own sizes, and they change: the same body can ask for different pixels or kilobytes from one year to the next, and a single notice can even contradict itself — SSC’s CGL notice, in 2026 as in 2025, gives the signature as about 6.0 cm wide in one place and about 4.0 cm in another. The presets here say exactly which document they come from. When your notification says something different, choose “My notification” and type its numbers: they are the ones the portal will check.
SSC applicants: one more thing
SSC’s notice advises candidates to use Aadhaar-based authentication when they complete their one-time registration, and says that such applications will not be rejected on the ground that the photograph or signature is not as prescribed (para 9.3). The signature still needs to be clear: upload it at 10–20 KB.
Questions people ask
What size should my photo and signature be for IBPS?
IBPS's own instructions for CRP PO/MT-XVI (2026, Annexure III) give the same sizes as for 2025: photograph 200 × 230 pixels (preferred), 20–50 KB; signature 140 × 60 pixels (preferred), 10–20 KB, in black ink and not in capital letters; left thumb impression 240 × 240 pixels at 200 DPI (3 × 3 cm), 20–50 KB; hand-written declaration 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI (10 × 5 cm), 50–100 KB. IBPS also asks for a live photo through your webcam or phone in addition to the uploaded one. These are the presets here; check them against the notification for the recruitment you are applying to.
What about SSC? Where is the SSC photo option?
There isn't one, on purpose. SSC no longer takes an uploaded photo: the application captures one live through your camera, and the CGL 2026 notice says an application where a candidate photographs an existing photo will be rejected (paras 9.4 and 9.5). Only the signature is uploaded: JPEG, 10 to 20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide and 2.0 cm high (para 9.6). The same notice's Annexure-IV says about 4.0 × 2.0 cm; both give the same 10–20 KB, which is the part the form checks.
My notification gives the size in centimetres. What do I do?
Choose 'My notification', switch to cm and type the width and height. Centimetres only become pixels at a DPI: type the DPI if your notification states one, otherwise the tool uses 200 DPI, which is what IBPS states for its thumb impression and declaration. The DPI is written into the file, so it measures the right size when opened.
The form says my file is too small. How can a photo be below the minimum?
At small pixel sizes a photo with a plain background can come out under the minimum even at the best quality: there is simply not much in it. The tool first raises the quality as far as it goes; if the file is still short, it adds blank padding inside the file, which every viewer ignores, until it reaches the minimum. The picture itself is not changed, and the tool tells you when it has done this.
Is 50 KB 50,000 bytes or 51,200?
Notifications never say, and portals differ. So the tool aims for a size that passes either way: no more than the maximum counted as 1,000 bytes per KB, and no less than the minimum counted as 1,024. The exact byte count is shown under the result.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The photo is cropped, resized and compressed on your own device, in the browser. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else, and the tool remembers only your chosen settings, never the picture.
Why does my signature come out black and white?
Because 'Clean up' is on. It turns the paper white and the ink dark, which is what forms ask for when a signature is photographed on paper under a lamp. Untick it to keep the colours exactly as they are.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Tap 'Choose a photo' to pick one from your gallery or take a new one, drag it into place with your finger, and download the JPG to upload from the same phone.
