Privacy Policy

The short version: the documents you make on FormatWala are created inside your own browser. What you type is not sent to us. We have no accounts and no database of users.

This policy applies to formatwala.in. FormatWala is run by Jaspal Singh from Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, who is the person responsible for how the site handles data and the person to contact about it.

What you type into the tools

• Your business details, your customers’ details, amounts, logos and signatures are processed only in your browser, on your own device.
• So that you do not have to retype them, they are saved in your browser’s local storage on that device. We cannot read that storage. Other websites cannot read it either.
• To remove the saved details, use “Clear form” in a tool, or clear the site data for formatwala.in in your browser settings.
• When you download or print, the PDF is produced by your own browser. It is not uploaded.

If we ever add a feature that needs to send a document to our server, for example saving your documents to an account, it will be optional, it will say clearly what is sent, and this page will be updated first.

What our server records

Like every website, our web server and the network that delivers the site (Cloudflare) record basic technical details of each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and the browser’s user-agent string. We use these logs to keep the site running and to stop abuse. Our web server is located in France (hosted with OVH), and Cloudflare serves the site from its data centres around the world, including India. Server logs are normally deleted after about two weeks. We do not try to identify individual visitors from them.

Cookies

FormatWala sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set a cookie that is strictly necessary for security, for example to tell real visitors from automated attacks.

Advertising

FormatWala is paid for by advertising. When ads are shown, they are served by Google AdSense:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this website or to other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of some other vendors’ personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
• How Google uses information from sites that use its services is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Advertisers never receive what you type into the tools, because we do not have it ourselves.

Analytics

We do not currently use any analytics scripts. If that changes, this page will say so before it happens.

If you email us

We keep your message and email address for as long as needed to deal with your request, and we use them for nothing else.

Your choices and rights

You can use every tool without giving us any personal information. Because your documents stay on your device, you control them: you can view, change or delete them there at any time. If you have written to us and want your emails deleted, or you have any question about your data under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, contact us using the details below.

Children

The site is meant for adults running a business or managing their own paperwork. It is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date below. Significant changes will be announced on the home page.
